Yer had to cough up £25 for mine includes loads of tests! Plus he filled out the form! Money well spent though! Can't wait to start!

Indeed, they did a bunch of tests for me and filled out the form I was provided by the police. Always good to test one's eyesight though!

I had mine done at the local opticians so I could go in after work and get it done a.s.ap. Although the test was extremely thorough I got charged £55!!! It was £45 for the test and the they charged me another £10 for filling in the form! All done now though - I guess its for a good cause!

lewielewie, go back and nick them when you've got your warrant card for robbery! Mine cost £21 from Specsavers, bargain! Worried that I've not done my uniform form properly though.

Nearly submitted mine filled in on the women's side. I did wonder why it said bowler..:) You get uniform fitting which will measure out all of your sizes anyway, I'm not sure I gave all that much information on the form except some simple measurements and left/right handedness.

Well I filled in the measurements as best I could but couldn't figure out if I had to fill in the bit below as to how many items I was ordering, etc so I left it blank.

What did you do?

Got my uniform fitting arranged today, exciting!:) My local station is Cullompton so that's where I'm hoping to work from. I had my eye test done with Vision Express, £25 for the test and £25 to complete the form but it's worth it.

Look forward to seeing you all in training.

Hi all just wanted to say congrats on passing all the various stages Posted Image. I'm on the training course atm, have probably passed you guys at middlemoor without realising. with regards to the uniform, you will go and try on shirt, trouser, fleece, stabbie and the big hat. You won't get any of it then. You will get issued basic kit on your induction weekend: shirt, tie and trousers - no shoes though. You will then receive the rest of your gear on attestation day.

If you've got any further questions/queries ect feel free to ask Posted Image I'll do my best to help out

Kit

They already know how many of each item to give you, so there is no need to fill that part out. In regards to measurements, they will try on a lot of things there to know your exact size so not much on that form was necessary to fill out to be honest.

You don't take any of it home, you get given basic uniform when you start training (shirt, trousers, epaulettes), the equipment as you are trained with them (baton, handcuffs, fast straps) then the rest when you are attested (vest, helmet, etc). I know a few at Exmouth, should be a nice place to go. :D

Aaaand I see I was beaten with responding with the information!

There's a fair amount of take with when you are given it. Luckily they give you 2 bags for it all (which has it all in there prepacked!).

In regards to the overnight stays, they're alright, but the beds aren't brilliant. You get your own bathroom & bedroom though.

I finished my training a short while back. :)

Custodian is more comfortable for sure, skipped a heart beat the other day when I thought I had lost it! Turned up in the most obvious place 30 minutes later mind you..

It wasn't on top of your head by any chance was it? :D

I very much liked how our helmets have a little spike on the top. And we get our own bathrooms? Swish! That's more than I get at home! :w00t: Can't wait for January!

I had confirmation a day after uniform fitting, though I think it relies on vetting going through with ease.

I have a list of dates that start in January, so one assumes so! However, I didn't do my tests in December. As I recall once, I was informed they do try and send you your confirmation letter about four weeks before the course starts. Although, I may have just dreamt that. :D

Did you receive a letter or telephone call? I had a telephone call asking when I was free to attend uniform fitting and have arranged that for 4th Jan.

I've had a call today to book in my uniform fitting, does that mean I've passed vetting and waiting for the letter is just a formality?

The lady who called to arrange it didn't seem to know if I'd passed my vetting or not, she just said that she assumed so if they're sorting me out with the uniform.

I'm pretty confused as to what's going on; am I in or not?!

The letter says whether or not you have passed vetting. So at this moment, not for definite, but I wouldn't worry if I were you!
