I am already an authorised response and initial pursuit driver- can specials in Lancashire drive response if they have completed the course and in my case an assesed drive on transfer?
Do you have a grade structure?
I am a specials traffic officer and work with RPU regularly - is there any such systems in place in Lancs or do you only work with Beat / Response?
I appreciate the answers are probably dotted around the forum but to save me hours of searching i would be grateful of your input.
Many thanks
BC.

Hi all, I'm a special across the other side of the pennines and might be moving across to lancashire in the coming year. I wondered if i could ask a few questions from you inhabitant of the Lancashire area?

Not sure about driving tickets being transferred you'd have to speak to recruitment about that or if anyone else here knows? I can't see why not but I don't know for certain.
In my division we have RPU specials that work exclusively with traffic and have completed all the necessary training, there's not really much that specials can't do!
Rank structure is same as the regulars Special Sergeant, Special Inspector etc, what brings you over? (If you don't mind me asking)

Despite putting before that I wasnt aware of any traffic specials in Lancs, I was wrong and its just dawned on me that there is. He's even been in the National Specials Magazine for it!
As for your driving permit, providing its home office approved it should be ok to transfer it to Lancs. Not many RPU specials about though. GMP also have traffic specials, they get to use the baby beemers

Also of note, Lancs advanced drivers are Intial phase and tactical phase trained, its not one or the other. If you're only initial phase trained (as im aware a lot of forces just do this), it would mean training you in tactical by Lancs so it would basically turn into a full 4 week driving course.
