As Scott has already said, it is legal to film in public although I agree that overt filming is probably a bad idea, especially of drunk night club goers!

As for the interview, the police likely received a complaint from someone regarding the filming. Interviewing you under caution would have been standard procedure so that your answers would be admissible in court if it transpired that you had committed some other offence. Filming on it's own is perfectly legal but other offences could occur depending on the circumstances, e.g. continually following a particular individual with a camera could be treated as harassment (breach of the peace) etc.

I'm not expecting another visit, they just took down my answers to the above questions and then said they couldn't see the complaint progressing any further.

They did express alot of sympathy for my situation, and said they would try and find out what could be done to help.

MartinC has given you the answer. I was going down the route of you would be a potential witness because you have recorded incidents of ASB.

I didn't know harassment could be a BotP. You learn something new everyday. :aok:

Martin is spot on as usual, it's not that you are guility or anything else. It's to get your official opinion on what you are doing so that if a case does come up they have a statement to answer the complaint.

It's nothing bad, it doesn't mean you've broken the law it's Standard procedure as Martin has said.
