I've just remembered that his characters name was Roger, but can't remember the surname or his real name.
Roger Valentine - Wiki
Roger Over Victor!
Absolute classic!
"Do we have clearence Clarence?"
"Roger, Roger. What's our vector Victor?"
Edit: And if you enjoyed Airplane (as I did), Airplane 2 was poor but I would recommend:
Naked Gun 1-3
Hot Shots 1-2
Spy Hard
Wrongfully Accused
I thought the last one was brilliant (basically a spoof of Fugitive) although the reviews were poor and I've only been able to get it on Region 1 DVD.

SPOILER: They come all this way to Earth and bury their tripods before we humans come on the scene, turn up later to attack, and then are defeated by microbes! Surely, that would have been taken into consideration! Sorry, just had to vent my annoyance!

Yes, well we also share it with:
John Major (previous PM)
Lucy Lawless (Xena - Warrior Princess)
Sam Walton (Founded Wal-Mart)
So that's politics, business and entertainment covered. You have policing, and I've yet to contribute!

Good morning Strathclyde, is it just as wet up there as it is down here?
Absolutely! - Should dry up towards the afternoon though, according to the weather.
The parents are back today, they were up visiting my sister who works on the Isle of Skye, so the house will be less quiet!

You didn't have a chat topic anywhere...so I made you this one. Now don't say I never give you anything!
I found one here Paradox! It is quite old and ran to 14 pages until April 2008, almost all participants are no longer active.
Lets try and do better this time folks.

Glad you joined us! I've been a Glaswegian all my life. Spent 7 weeks in Bolivia which is the longest time I've spent away from the city.

Skye is an okay place although the weather was pretty bad on Wednesday.
Its pretty sunny but cool looking over the sea to Skye today.
I hope your folks enjoyed their time there even though you can get all four seasons in one day.

They came home on Wednesday, but had a nice time there. They went on plenty of walks and helped my sister move house - between towns on the mainland, but her office is in Kyle and she covers the whole island. Yeah, the weather was mixed but they were quite happy.
Nice to have a Northern person join our chat thread, no offence to the Englandshire folks already here!
