My trusty Denon AVR 1604 Home Cinema amp has given up the ghost after years of faithful service.

I would have thought that with a brand new, full HD home cinema amp being available for less than £300, repairing your AVR1604 would not be worthwhile. Remember, you could get if fixed, pay say £100 for the repair, and it could break down within weeks/ months. At least with a new product, you have a warranty. The sort of amp you might consider as a replacement Onkyo TX-SR313 or similar. Good luck.My trusty Denon AVR 1604 Home Cinema amp has given up the ghost after years of faithful service.

I've got an onkyo 309, paid 165 brand new, and it's brilliant.... Entry level and does everything!

I have the Onkyo 509, it does a hell of a lot more than I need it to do and has lots of inputs etc. Currently £250 at Richer Sounds.
