I am just curious how long the recruitment process is for merseyside police? Anyone got any comments on the force itself?

Cheers

As far as specials go, i applied in march and should start training beginning of july (if medical goes ok  ). So 5 months or thereabouts for me.

Chaser, as I understand it, Merseyside used to take ages when recruiting, some 18 months or so. However, I believe it has now got a lot better. One member on here, Another_Inspector applied in December I think and is just awaiting security clearance. So that makes it 5 months or so so far. Have a look at the Dear Diary section, and read his account!

 The process should take 10 weeks to complete, then you have to wait for the next course at the training school which is 4 alternate weekends.

We are looking at ways to complete the 10-week process even quicker than that but there will always be a period of time before you set foot out on the streets. However, it's worth it to join the best force in the UK!

Answering for my boss, thats for the Specials.

The regs process is usually about 6 months but we only tend to take on one or two times per year, not a rolling programme like some other Forces.
