Hello Everyone!!

Quick Question for the Gurus out there, who can answer this for me -

With Handcuff Holders / Pouches , which ones are now being handed out with handcuffs to new officers????

I was always used to the Handcuff Holders which make the cuffs sit at an angle

Posted Image - Like these ones here - that swivel round

However - i saw some cuffs on an offier the other day which are in some weird like black gortex pouch thing

where the cuffs were sitting upright / vertical?? Also were being used on latest Episode of the Bill

Can anyone clear this up which holders are now being used - the ones in the picture above,

OR - the ones in an upright gortex pouch thing??

Thanks in Advance

Got my uniform issued in august 09, mine is the same as the picture, 3 adjustable positions vertical, slanted as the pic, or horizontal.

The standard ones are the half closure swivel jobs.

Ive just come out of training this week and was issued the one in your pucture 3 weeks ago . .there is an aftermarket one available in the shop at Hendon which sounds like the gortex one you mention which i bought but am now thinking i wont use as this one seems fine (and looks the biz) . .only issue i can forsee is it may be uncomfortable if/when rolling around on the floor with a suspect?...

They are the same as in that picture, the Price Western Leather RCP7. Although the pictured officer has replaced their CS holder with a Peter Jones ILG P175.

I don t use my met issue cs holder either, its absolutely useless and not fit for purpose, all it takes is for the velcro to come undeone in a scuffle and your cs goes flying. I have the peter jones one, someone did say I'm not allowed to use it as it's not issue, funny how they issue the Peter Jones holders to specialist departments. I think its something to do with cost and I'm slightly sick of response in the Met being the poor cousins to other more gucci departments.

Thats not correct corbs its the Niton one not the Peter Jones one. Differance being that the niton one is made completely from plastic and has a kevlar lanyard and does not rotate just stays vertical where the ilg one is Mainly Leather and rotates 360o on the belt

True, hadn't looked at the top properly thanks for pointing that out. Peter Jones does also do fixed rake versions which are cheaper than the ratchet or klick fast ones.

If you're using that you'll need one of these as well or you'll be sorry.
