Hi,
Ive got my interview and tests with kent police on sunday, i have got to do a 5minute self presentation on myself. Does anyone know if you have do to this in front of all the applicants or just in front of the interviewers. It seems a bit daunting.

I know I said I didnt know much about the presentatio that you have todo, but just remember, if it is in front of everyone, then chances are everyone else is feeling the same as you, and you will all bond and support each other

I have experience of doing presentations in front of a panel of interviewers and in front of an audience.
Just keep in mind that you try to keep calm as your five minute presentation can easily get condensed into 2 minutes if you rattle it off too fast.
Stick to the facts i.e. who you are, where you are from, how old you are, what you do just now, your interests, why you are there and what you hope to gain from it and what you want to give (that's all they want to know) - unless you are certain of success, don't try to be funny, keep it light all the same though.
Good pointer is to write some stuff down and rehearse it in front of the mirror, in front of friends/family, this will hopefully give you greater confidence and help you measure the pace of your delivery. Also, listen to any comments your family/friends make, even if it is just to take the pish (ye olde English trendy word circa 1700s, not offensive, el moderators).
Before you get up to do your presentation, you might be standing up, just take a breath and calm yourself - most of all, it's a bit of fun (an ice breaker if you will), very very unlikely you will be marked on your presentation so don't worry about it.

Hiya
When i did the self presentation thing, you just had to do it infront of your interviewers. They just gave you 5 mins to talk about yourself etc and then went straight into the interview. But that was around august time last year so the process maybe different now.
