  1. Benefits of being a special

That takes dominos down to an acceptable price then! Thanks all! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi all, Just wondering what benefits you get from wing a special (besides the obvious experience etc) do you get discounts on certain things like our regular colleagues? Car finance, mortgages... KFC? Haha Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Connor Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Police medic?

Ah right! Well it's good to hear that they are around, it's something I fancied doing but maybe save it for when I become a regular! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Police medic?

Hi all, Tell me if I'm completely wrong but, after watching a couple of those police interceptor jobbies I have noticed that some of them have green med packs on their vests and they say police medic, is this a thing? And can specials become one? Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. SC to PC

  6. SC to PC

  7. SC to PC

Well it's more for the future really, I'm starting my training as SC in Lancashire soon but my overall goal is to apply to lancs as a regular. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. SC to PC

Hi folks, just curious as to how a special Constable goes about applying for a police Constable position in his/her local force? I would assume having Medicals, training, vetting etc already done, you would assume it would be a fitness and an interview... Is this true or is there more too it than that? Do specials have to RE apply like someone starting off on the ladder with no previous experience? Has it been known for specials to just get taken on by a force and just have to attest and... Well... That's it? Thanks in advance! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. Special's final assessment what can I expect?

I hate exams... Well.. Written ones anyway! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I would say just give them fair warning, it looks professional and courteous. They will probably respect you more for letting them know early on rather than dropping it on them with just your notice period to work (if you have one). That's just what I would do, as Andy_L said you know your own boss, just judge the situation as you see fit, good luck matey! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. Shooting birds

As for firearms regulations, you dont need a licence (in England so far) to own or use an airgun as long as your 18+ or 16+ accompanied by a responsible adult. If it is used on land without the permission of the owner then it can be classed as armed trespass even if it is an air rifle... as far as i know.

I agree with Mr Random and 22 TANGO, if the projectile leaves the boundaries of the property then its an offence, Also if the property is less than 50m from a public highway then you cannot discharge even an air rifle for risk of ricochet . Probably liable to pay whatever the number of chickens cost (providing that it was them that shot them). Silly thing to do.
