  2. Motorway Regs Exemption

The conversation started with being told that an ambulance (the proper ones, not the vans) can't use lane 3 unless driving under emergency conditions before of the "exemption from Motorway Regs". There are a lot more exemptions than then one you've stated. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Motorway Regs Exemption

So, I've been having a heated discussion about an ambulances legal exemptions. I was lead to believe that we are exempt from Motorway regulations. A Trust document also listed this but did not mention the relevant law or act. A quick google of the interwebs and a read of the RTA '88 and Road Reg '84 and Motorway Regs '82 has left me stumped. Any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Section 50 Police Reform Act

What aboot, if they were filming the treatment of a patient in a public place? Would it matter if it caused distress to the relatives or they began to distract or obstruct the ambulance crew? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

JP, Thats fair enough, I guess I'll have to learn the ropes and get experience first, then see what my gut tells me. All approved with management and HR. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Should the Rail Cops series be brought back?

Pretty much just checking people oyster cards are valid. On a slight deviation, I just finished watching BBC The Specials. Was alright, a bit samey. My fav is still Traffic Cops. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  12. Special "Paramedic"

I doubt I would be extracted. As I work for an already understaffed NHS service, I would have to get someone to cover my shift. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Special "Paramedic"

The reason I ask, I recently attended an RTC where one drivers I believed to have been under the influence. We requested police, but they we're some time away. Patient had potentially life changing injuries and was under the care of a specialist crew. I imagined if I was SC, would I have an obligation to detain the other driver? I know my priorities are patient care and the people who give me money, but will I be in trouble for failing to do my duty as an sworn constable?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Note: the ?DUI driver and patient were two different people. Yo, yo. I am an EMT with EEAST, in the process of applying as a Special. Wondering is anyone is in a similar position and if they encountered any problems or conflicts of interested being an SC and a HCP. CHEERS! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Skill levels of Ambulance staff.

Well, they do sometimes come out for local media as well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
