as I have heard, won't be on the t-shirts but when out and about you'll have either your vest, fleece or hi-vis on which should all have eppaulettes with your collar number displayed.

Nice to know i was right

It looks ok although I do think the white shirt does look really good on the guys as it's very smart but I guess it comes down to what's practical.

What were the complaints regarding the old white shirts, if anyone knows? Tom?

the old white shirts not the ones we get now were itchy collars were like cardboard buttons at the collar kept flying off (the ammount of people with paper clips at court holding it together) and various other probs

Nobody has yet said WHY the uniform is changing - was it a suggestion from the PCs?

Our uniform changed for several reasons -

Firstly there was officer safety / welfare - it is warmer, waterproof etc, more durable when climbing etc.

THe street factor - less formal, more likely to get engagement from the neds.....

Not sure if BTP , CNC, MDP are gonna have to wear it in Scotland. If so will they change it in E&W as well.

BTP are getting it, not sure when though.
It's all to do with the new national (Scottish) uniform model. Obviously there will be some slight variations, but it's pretty much going to be the same. As you can see, our body armour is slightly different, and we have sleeves which are very much zipped on at the moment because of the cold.

It is reasonably lightweight, I never had one of the old ones, but the story goes that they were much heavier.
